What We Do: The Rotary Club of South West Queens Communities
regularly holds fundraisers and actively supports a variety of causes, both
small and large, at the local, national, and international level. For
example, we:
• Are a proud supporter of the Food Pantry of Our Lady of Grace
Ministry of Care Services food pantry in Howard Beach, which supplies food to
needy families in the area. We regularly donate to the food pantry and
hold events to support the food pantry, including an annual Pancake Breakfast
and a successful Stuff the Bus event.
• Donate to S.T.A.R.S., a nonprofit youth center in Howard
Beach.
• Have helped raise money and awareness for New York Families for
Autistic Children.
• Donated a Nintendo Wii video game to Jamaica Hospital’s Trump
Pavilion for Nursing and Rehabilitation to provide recreation and entertainment
for residents.
• Held a fundraiser for the benefit of the PKD Foundation, which
supports programs relating to polycystic kidney disease, cancer research
projects, and cure diabetes programs.
• Donated to a local Rotary clubs in upstate New York affected by
Hurricane Irene and in New Orleans affected by Hurricane Katrina.

children and adults with disabilities achieve equality, dignity, and maximum
independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and
education in a summer-time environment.
• Supported the Christian Appellation Project.
• Participated in the The New York Says Thank You Foundation, to
transform the 9/11 Anniversary into a positive, hands-on platform for national
volunteer service.

polio and to provide life saving operations to children of third world
countries, respectfully.
• Regularly hold informative seminars open to the public, such as “How
to Use Social Networking to Promote Your Business”; “How Secure is Your Home?”;
