SWQ & Rockaway Rotary 1st annual Beach to Beach ride to help eradicate Polio.
The ride was held Saturday Sept 27, 2008. Although the weather was not great, it could have been worse, the ride was held with 30-35 riders participating. The after party was held at the Irish Circle with food and music with live band. Dist Gov Thom Gelsdorf and his wife attended the afterparty and had a great time. This man loves a party!
Dear Dan and Stuart,I like to congratulate you and the great Rotarians of your club to have organized this first annual bike ride from Howard Beach to Rockaway. My wife Heidi and I greatly enjoyed the friendship and fellowship at the Irish Circle, the band, hamburgers and beer for $ 1.50 a cup. ( I could not believe my ears, hearing the price).I also liked the enthusiasm of your Rotarians in planning and expanding ideas for next years bike ride.Until another time, all the best, Thomas Gelsdorf
